Sometimes people ask me to build one of these for them.
That's fine by me. Same hands, a proper invoice, no agency in between.
Build something new
A scoped first version, in production, with real users on it. Usually about six weeks.

Fix something old
You inherited a codebase and its problems. I read it, stabilise it, and write down what I found.

Stick around
A few days a month on your product — features, infra, or being the person who knows why it broke.

Ballpark: projects start around $12k, retainers around $4k a month. Happy to talk it
through before either of us guesses.
Who's typing
Nine years of backends that other people's money passes through, which makes me tediously serious about reliability and quite relaxed about everything else.
Go and TypeScript. Postgres when it has to scale, SQLite when it doesn't.
